Social and environmental responsibility in the supply chain is a key area of focus for PAPSTAR, with the many challenges of sustainable procurement.

Consistent ESG-strategy

A company-wide procurement policy stipulates fair treatment of suppliers, protection of the environment and people, and compliance with applicable laws.

PAPSTAR requires its main suppliers to provide certificates and evidence of key sustainability aspects, particularly in the areas of human and labor rights and the environment. ESG (environmental, social, and governance) issues are an integral part of business relationships and contracts. PAPSTAR is not content with minimum legal standards—rather, it is essential to keep an eye on the entire supply chain and actively promote sustainable principles.

PAPSTAR's commitment to certifications and sustainable standards is based both on inner conviction and a deeply rooted understanding of corporate responsibility – long before legal requirements or social expectations demanded it.

Strategic resource management

Example: Vehicle fleet. Over the past three decades, numerous optimisation measures have been implemented – from the provision of state-of-the-art, resource-saving technology to the continuous minimisation of average consumption of diesel fuel.

Recycling concepts and circular economy orientation

PAPSTAR Solutions GmbH was founded in 2019 as a spin-off to implement material flow management solutions. Its core task is the continuous development and organisation of recycling cycles and the consistent provision of secondary raw materials.

Code of Conduct

The social and environmental landscape is significantly influenced by economic activity. PAPSTAR is fully aware of the responsibility this entails, particularly with regard to promoting ecological, social and ethical thinking and behaviour. Core values and standards were formulated on the basis of the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and adopted as a Code of Conduct. In addition to being binding on all employees, the Code of Conduct is also an essential prerequisite for all suppliers and business partners wishing to work with the company.
